LEADERSHIP TEAM
The primary duty of the Leadership Team is to provide governance and leadership that supports the spiritual growth and well-being of our congregation, while also advancing WMLC’s mission and ministry in the world. This team meets on the third Tuesday of each month.
PERSONNEL TEAM
Our Personnel Team is responsible for supporting the staff at WMLC, identifying church needs & responsibilities, communicating goals & targets, assisting with compensation & benefits management and working closely with the Leadership Team. This team meets at least once per year to do performance reviews.
FELLOWSHIP & OUTREACH TEAM
The Fellowship & Outreach Team facilitates events to promote fellowship and to bring awareness to the congregation the benefits of giving their time and talents. The team meets on an as-needed basis. You do not have to be a team member to help with an activity!
WORSHIP & MUSIC TEAM
The roles of the Worship & Music Team are to evaluate church worship services, help plan special services, determine what is meaningful and God-centered worship, help form worship, push boundaries regarding worship and encourage more people to get involved. The team meets quarterly.
CHRISTIAN DEVELOPMENT TEAM
This team oversees a wide range of activities including education for our children and adults, as well as youth group activities. They also work on creating a meaningful Fall Kick Off and most recently added the WMLC Trunk or Treat event. Meetings are quarterly and happen via zoom. Feel free to attend a meeting to see if this team is for you!
HUMAN CONCERNS TEAM
Our Human Concerns Team is dedicated to supporting both the church and the community through aiding WayForward Resources, St. Mark’s Food Pantry, Lutheran World Relief, and beyond! Meetings are scheduled on an as-needed basis.
ALTAR GUILD TEAM
This team’s duties include setting and cleaning up communion for each service, changing paraments, and assisting with special services (baptisms, confirmation, holidays, etc.). This team meets rarely, but asks for a commitment of a month. We encourage working with a buddy!
FINANCE & ENDOWMENT TEAM
The Finance & Endowment Team serves to monitor the church’s financial situation, propose financial actions, and provide the Leadership Team with information as requested. The team meets quarterly after church on Sundays. More time is typically spent on meetings as the Mission Spending Plan for the upcoming year is developed.
MEMORIALS & GIFTS TEAM
This team is responsible for recognizing and recommending uses of contributions given in honor or memory, including bequests. The team meets on as-needed basis, often through phone or email.
